Overview
Last year, 2023, was a RAGING success so this year we go again and we have created multiple fundraising challenge options from first timer's to the wildly adventurous. At 1085 metres above sea level, Yr Wyddfa (the Welsh name for Snowdon) is the highest mountain in Wales and higher than any mountain in England. While it's a formidable challenge to summit this beauty, with training it's possible for many. Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is within Snowdonia National Park which also holds many incredible mountains to keep stretching the adventurous, and everything on this day will start and finish from Llanberis in north Wales. These incredible challenges on the 29th of June 2024 are in support of the Aiming Higher charity who are a Blackpool based charity that supports families with disabled children across Blackpool, Wyre and Flyde. Walk One will be up and down the Llanberis Path which is around 10.5 miles in total with 1,000 metres of height gain. Walk Two will leave in the afternoon to reach the summit just before sunset and then walk off by head torch. Cost includes loan of a head torch and will be using the same route as walk one. For this year we have created The Aiming Higher Mountain Challenge for those who want that something special or have completed Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) before and want to extend the fundraising. This is 21km in distance taking in 7 mountains with 1,450 metres of height gain. A very special experience indeed. All walks will go at an appropriate pace and there will be a high ratio of Guides to walkers meaning that some can walk faster, some can walk slow, and we will ensure you are kept safe and well. Start times will be communicated 3-months from the event day but likely around 08:00 for The Aiming Higher Mountain Challenge, 09:00 for walk one and around 15:00 for walk two. Cost of registration includes a t-shirt and finisher medal plus fully qualified mountain guides and we ask that you pledge to aim to raise £250 (although any fundraising contributions will be welcomed). Get booked on NOW! You'll make friends, have fun, improve your wellbeing and be more healthy. Once booked you'll receive a welcome email with some key information so please do check your junk folder. Scroll down for more information, important blogs and FAQ's. Aspire Adventures are purely responsible for the walk and not anything relating to fundraising. If you order any merchandise you will be contacted for a shipping address.

FAQs
What happens when I've booked?
You'll receive an email with further details with kit list, expectations, timings and how to raise money for this amazing charity. In the build up you'll receive a couple more emails to be able to get ready, get excited and get motivated. Your kit list discount is 10% with Ellis Brigham and that's online and in-store.
What fitness level is required?
A level of fitness is great but this walk is designed so that many people can succeed. We move slowly where necessary and people can have time on the mountain as needed. There are also plenty of breaks. Also, the sooner you book the more time you have for training.
How long will the walks take?
This all depends on fitness. We allow lots of time and there will be qualified Guides at the front, rear and all around the mountain to help out. Some may take 4hrs and some may take 8hrs and that's okay. We have got your back and the same principle for both walks.
What will the weather be like?
It's really hard to tell until about 3 days out and even then it can change at the drop of a hat. We send you a kit list when you register and then 72hrs out we send a final email with what we feel the weather will be like with some recommendations which could be bring a hat or don't forget suncream.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome and they must be kept on a lead as you pass through active farm land which may have sheep. You will be responsible for your dog.
What about car parking?
Car parking is available in the area and could be anything from £4.00 to £6.00 and it's worth having change incase the card machine isn't working and postcode LL55 4TY can be used for planning.
Is there accommodation locally?
There is lots of accommodation in and around Llanberis to suit all budgets. This is definitely worth booking ASAP as the area gets booked up really quickly.
