Overview
This is an ultimate expedition experience if you've done something like Kilimanjaro or Everest Base Camp and looking to stretch your capabilities. Island Peak is 6,189m high and total awesomeness. You'll be using crampons, ice axe, fixed ropes and crossing a glacier with plenty of training before so you're ready and geared up for success. We follow the normal Everest Base Camp trail to Chukkung looking to acclimatise along the way and stopping at familiar teahouses so you're treated like the king or queen that you deserve to do. As we reach this stunning village we stop to check kit and get ourselves ready for the push to Island Peak Basecamp and then summit push. Plenty of time is allowed for preparing for this challenge of all challenges so by the time you're strapping on the crampons you're chomping at the bit and busting to get on the fixed ropes. Exact itinerary is dynamic to allow for team acclimatisation. Generally meals can be very westernised but also have a local feel. Breakfast could be Tibetan bread, eggs, toast, porridge. Lunch could be soup, rice, pasta, dahl baht (Sherpa favourite!). Dinner could be meat, chips, rice, pasta, dahl baht. All dietary requests can be catered for.
